Separation between Church and State II

On the same subject, I must say that I'm quite baffled as to why the police are pursuing this silly case.
It appears that while they are unable or unwilling to protect honest citizens from crime, they are more than eager to protect them from temptation.

Don't be too baffled Pete.

One thing I will say on this subject - the state is within it's rights in exercising such caution. This case appears to be less about issues that pertain to moral rectitude and personal choice than about "risks" to national security.

The Home Affairs Minister appears to have acted wisely here by prempting a situation that might easily have escalated out of control. Think turf wars, a la Romania and Bulgaria; certainly not in keeping with our peaceful Mediterranean way of life.

Besides, we can hardly assume the moral high ground in the irregular immigration debate if we tolerate what appears to be "forced prostitution" (sic).

I think too we can do without the polonium-210. Things are hard enough as they are.

There might be more than a grain of truth in what u're saying, anonymous. For all we know, it might well be Tonio Borg that's keeping the Red Army off our streets ...
